Installation method of stainless steel decorative tile edge strips
Installing stainless steel decorative tile edging strips requires ensuring the wall surface is flat, dry, and clean to guarantee a strong bond. Here are the key steps and points:
Preparation:
Clean the tile surface, removing dust, oil, and impurities. Prepare tools such as screwdrivers, glue, 3M tape, clips, rulers, and pencils. Inspect the stainless steel decorative strips for defects or deformation, replacing them if necessary.
Measurement and Cutting:
Use a ruler to accurately measure the dimensions of the installation location and cut the decorative strip accordingly. Keep the cut clean to avoid unevenness affecting the aesthetics. Perform a pre-installation comparison after cutting to check if the size and position are suitable, adjusting as needed.
Installation Method Selection:**
Adhesive Method:** If using 3M tape, apply it smoothly to the back of the decorative strip, aligning it with the marked areas and pressing it in gradually from one end, ensuring it remains level and straight. If using adhesive (such as special stainless steel adhesive or glass glue), apply evenly to the installation location and the back of the decorative strip. Wait a few moments for optimal adhesion, then quickly attach the strip. Use clips to secure it until the adhesive dries.
Screw Fixing Method: Drill holes at the marked locations, selecting an appropriate drill bit to control depth and size, avoiding damage to the tiles or substrate. Insert the screws into the holes and tighten them with moderate force to ensure a secure hold without damaging the components.
Post-Installation Inspection: Gently shake the decorative strip to check for stability. Compare it to the marked positions to confirm accuracy and feel the surface flatness by hand. If there is any looseness, misalignment, or unevenness, adjust and repair it promptly. Allow the adhesive to dry completely before conducting a final inspection.
Precautions: Avoid installation in extreme temperature or humidity environments to prevent affecting adhesive adhesion or deformation of the decorative strip. In terms of installation sequence, position the main decorative strip first, then install the auxiliary strips. If there are irregularities in the tile joints, they need to be pre-treated to level them.
